| Overview Signal transduction Signal transduction and cancer Signal transduction inhibitors (STIs) Multi-signal transduction regulators (STRs) Phenoxodiol |
Signal transduction and cancer Cancer occurs when one or more checkpoints in certain critical signal transduction processes within a cell begin to act abnormally. In a small number of human cancers (mostly uncommon ones), it appears that the cancer process is limited to a single checkpoint in a single pathway acting abnormally. But for most human cancers, and certainly the most common forms of cancer (such as breast, prostate, bowel, lung etc.), multiple checkpoints and different signal transduction pathways are involved. Mostly the malfunction involves the checkpoint over-reacting to a signal. |
